Espresso Décaf
Roasted Coffee
Espresso Décaf is a Medium Dark espresso blend decaffeinated naturally with sugar cane ethyl acetate, made for cafés that want a serious decaf on the bar. It is built for espresso and works just as well through filter service. The blend ships in 340 g and 907 g retail packaging, plus 1 kg and 3 kg bulk formats for sale by the cup or internal use. Roasted in small batches in Montréal, it gives an espresso program a dependable decaf with real depth.
Tasting Notes
The cup is rich, woodsy, and smoky, with natural notes of dark chocolate. It carries a full body and holds its character through milk, so a decaf cappuccino or latte tastes like the real thing.
Origin
Espresso Décaf is built on Arabica beans from South America. The blend is made for consistency rather than single-origin specificity, so every delivery cups to a familiar, repeatable standard for your decaf service.
Roast
This is a Medium Dark roast that builds a full, smooth body. Decaffeinated beans are more porous, so they take on a darker exterior during roasting while the interior stays lighter, which makes the cup more rounded than the dark colour suggests.
Decaffeination
This coffee is decaffeinated using natural ethyl acetate (E.A.) derived from sugar cane and fruit, a process that removes at least 97% of the caffeine while preserving the bean's flavour. It is a clean, naturally sourced decaf method well suited to a quality-focused café program.
Brewing
As a general guideline, aim for a 1:16 ratio – roughly 1 gram of coffee to 16 grams of water for a balanced cup – though brew method matters. For a double espresso, use 16–20 g to yield about 60 ml. For drip and filter service, use 8.5 g of coffee per 236.56 ml (8 oz) of water, about 36 g per litre at batch scale.
