ARIEL Red Rooibos

ARIEL Red Rooibos is a caffeine-free herbal infusion from South Africa's Cederberg region, made from oxidised Red Rooibos leaves, available in a 1 kg bulk format. Naturally caffeine-free with a full body and a distinctly deep red colour. A well-recognised menu staple for café and hospitality programmes.

Tasting Notes

The cup is a vivid, deep red – one of the most visually striking and recognisable infusions in a loose leaf display. The flavour is naturally sweet and mildly earthy, with a woody, slightly honey-like note and a smooth finish without bitterness. Caffeine-free and appropriate for all-day and evening service.

About Red Rooibos

Red Rooibos comes from the Aspalathus linearis plant, a member of the legume family endemic to the Cederberg mountains of South Africa. Unlike tea from Camellia sinensis, it contains no caffeine and produces a naturally sweet infusion without the astringency of black tea. The deep red colour and full character develop through the fermentation and oxidation process used in traditional rooibos production.

Brewing

Steep 2.5 g per 200 ml at 95 °C for 5 to 7 minutes. A longer steep deepens the colour and character without adding bitterness. At 2.5 g per portion, a 1 kg bag yields approximately 400 portions.
