Brésil Alta Minas
Roasted Coffee
Brésil Alta Minas is a single-origin coffee from the high plains of Minas Gerais. It performs across espresso and filter service, with a rich, velvety body that works under milk or served black. The coffee ships in 340 g and 907 g retail packaging, plus 1 kg and 3 kg bulk formats for sale by the cup or internal use. Roasted in small batches in Montréal using Terra's TAG method, it pairs premium single-origin character with the consistency a wholesale program needs.
Tasting Notes
The cup is rich and velvety, with a seductive aroma and subtle natural notes of fruit and nuts. It is full-bodied and smooth, an easy single-origin to feature on an espresso bar or pour-over menu. The profile described here is for our TAG roast.
Origin
Brésil Alta Minas is grown in South Minas Gerais at 1,100 to 1,200 meters above sea level, where the high elevation builds the refined, complex character the region is known for. The estate protects 350 hectares of native forest, recycles coffee pulp back into the soil, and pays workers above the regional average with full benefits and safety training – a sourcing story worth communicating to your customers.
Roast
TAG (Torrefazione Artigianale Granito) is our suggested roast for single-origins. The TAG method drives the complete caramelization of the bean's natural sugars, drawing out the full depth of the coffee. The result is a rich, complex cup built on more than four decades of green-bean selection, roasting, and cupping expertise.
Brewing
As a general guideline, aim for a 1:16 ratio – roughly 1 gram of coffee to 16 grams of water for a balanced cup – though brew method matters. For drip and filter service, use 8.5 g of coffee per 236.56 ml (8 oz) of water, about 36 g per litre at batch scale. For a double espresso, use 16–20 g to yield about 60 ml.
