ARIEL Orange Pekoe Keppetipola
Black Tea
ARIEL Orange Pekoe Keppetipola is a single-origin whole leaf black tea from the highlands of Sri Lanka, available in 1 kg bulk for café and retail programs. Keppetipola, in the central highlands, produces Ceylon black tea with bright, clean character and consistent steeping performance. It is a reliable menu tea: easy to prepare, cup after cup, and clear enough on a drinks list to communicate quality to guests.
Tasting Notes
The cup is clear and bright, with a deep amber liquor and moderate astringency that holds up on its own or with milk. Expect classic Ceylon character: clean body, a touch of malt, and a finish with light citrus brightness. The flavour profile is accessible without being flat - a good fit for a standard tea service or an afternoon menu slot.
Origin
Keppetipola is a high-grown region in Sri Lanka's Uva Province, known for the clarity and brightness the origin is internationally respected for. Orange Pekoe is the leaf grade - whole, unbroken leaves that steep evenly and yield a clean, consistent infusion.
Brewing
Steep 2.5 g per 200 ml at 95 °C for 3 to 4 minutes. At this ratio, one kilogram yields approximately 400 portions - a useful baseline for tea service planning.
