ARIEL Moroccan Mint
Green Tea
Our classic Moroccan tea is a Gunpowder green tea blended with spearmint. Available in 24- and 60-count compostable pyramid tea bags for service simplicity and in 90 g loose leaf tins for shelf programs. Serves equally well hot, iced, or sweetened to taste.
Tasting Notes
The cup pours a clear pale yellow with bright spearmint at the front and a soft green tea base underneath. The spearmint is sweet and rounded rather than sharp – this is not a peppermint cup – with no menthol bite. Low astringency, clean finish, and the kind of cooling effect that reads well after a meal or in warm weather.
Blend
The base is whole leaf green tea, blended with dried spearmint leaves. The mint is Mentha spicata – the soft, sweet variety used in authentic Moroccan preparations – not the more menthol-forward peppermint that some North American mint teas substitute. Green tea is naturally rich in antioxidants, and the mint pairing has been the standard daily tea across Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia since the 19th century, where it is served as a gesture of welcome and hospitality.
Brewing
Steep 2.5 g per 250 ml at 90 °C for 2 minutes. At 2 minutes the spearmint contributes its full aromatic character without overtaking the green tea base. A 1 kg bag would yield approximately 400 portions at 2.5 g per cup; the 90 g tin yields approximately 36 portions. Each 250 ml serving contains zero calories.
