ARIEL Maple and Nut

Black Tea

Size

A walnut-and-maple flavoured black tea built on a Ceylon and Chinese leaf base, with dried licorice bits adding a soft, natural sweetness. Available in a 100 g loose leaf tin – a destination format for specialty retail and seasonal menu programs rather than a high-volume bulk position. Reads as a Canadian-Québécois flavour signature on the menu, and works as well after a meal as it does in an afternoon service window.

Tasting Notes

The cup pours a deep amber-red with a warm maple and toasted walnut aroma. Maple leads – sweet but not cloying – with the walnut character building through the middle and a soft licorice round-out on the finish. The black tea base carries underneath: full-bodied enough to stand up to milk, smooth enough to serve unaccompanied. The flavour is achieved through natural flavours; no walnut or other tree nuts are listed as ingredients.

Blend

The base is a blend of whole leaf Ceylon and Chinese black teas – Ceylon brings the brisk citrus lift and full body, while the Chinese leaf adds a mellow, slightly malty depth that holds the maple and walnut notes without competing with them. Dried licorice bits contribute a natural sweetness that softens the finish without making the cup taste sweetened. The result is a flavoured black tea that reads as indulgent without crossing into dessert territory.

Brewing

Steep 2.5 g per 250 ml at 95 °C for 3 minutes. Black tea is the most thermally tolerant of the true teas; full boil is appropriate. A 100 g tin yields approximately 40 portions at 2.5 g per cup. Each 250 ml serving contains zero calories.
