ARIEL Chun Mee
Green Tea
ARIEL Chun Mee is a whole leaf green tea from the highland regions of Jiangxi and Anhui provinces in China, available in a 1 kg bulk format. Pan-fired and hand-rolled into the curved, eyebrow-shaped leaves that give it its name – Chun Mee means 'Precious Eyebrow' in Chinese. Kosher certified and well suited to café and loose leaf programmes.
Tasting Notes
The cup is a bright, saturated golden-yellow with a clean, smooth character and a light, refreshing quality. The flavour is gently vegetal with a mild, pleasant astringency and a slightly sweet finish. An approachable, versatile green tea suited to morning and afternoon service.
Origin
Chun Mee is one of China's most established green tea styles, produced primarily in Jiangxi and Anhui provinces. The pan-firing process locks in freshness and produces the characteristic curved leaf shape that is central to the tea's identity. It is widely recognised and regularly consumed in China and across the Middle East.
Brewing
Steep 2.5 g per 200 ml at 70 to 85 °C for 3 to 4 minutes. Lower temperatures produce a lighter, sweeter cup; higher temperatures bring out more depth. At 2.5 g per portion, a 1 kg bag yields approximately 400 portions.
