ARIEL Ceremonial Matcha

Green Tea

Size

ARIEL Ceremonial Matcha is a stone-ground Japanese matcha powder sourced from Uji Prefecture in Kyoto. Available in a 1 kg bulk bag for café programmes and a 65 g retail tin, Kosher certified. Ceremonial grade – shade-grown, hand-harvested, and stone-ground – for a smooth, umami-rich cup with no bitterness.

Tasting Notes

The powder is a vivid jade-green with a characteristic sweet, grassy character and a rich umami note. The finish is smooth and clean – no bitterness when prepared within the recommended temperature range. The vibrant colour and full flavour hold up in matcha lattes and iced preparations as well as traditional bowl service.

Origin

Uji Prefecture in Kyoto is the most recognised origin for high-grade Japanese matcha, known for its clay soil and climate conditions that favour shade cultivation. The shade-growing process contributes to the characteristic deep colour and smooth character that define ceremonial-grade matcha.

Brewing

For traditional preparation: whisk 1 tsp (2 g) with 60 ml of hot water at 85 °C using a quick 'W' motion until frothy. For café service: dissolve 2 g in hot water, then top with steamed or cold milk for a matcha latte or iced matcha. At 2 g per portion, a 1 kg bag yields approximately 500 portions.
