Le Québec
Roasted Coffee
Le Québec is a rich filter house blend named for the city often described as the cradle of French civilization in North America. Built from premium selected coffees across four roast levels, it delivers a layered, characterful cup for cafés and restaurants that want a house coffee with local identity. The blend is available in a 340 g retail bag, plus 1 kg and 3 kg bulk formats for higher-volume programs. Roasted in small batches in Montréal, it gives a filter program a distinctive, dependable everyday coffee.
Tasting Notes
The cup is rich and layered, with natural floral and smoky notes – floral lift from the lighter roasts and smoky depth from the darker ones. It is a distinctive everyday coffee with more interest than a standard medium roast, an easy one for staff to describe on a menu.
Origin
Le Québec is built from a selection of premium coffees – grands crus – from several regions, blended for richness and complexity rather than the character of a single origin. The recipe is maintained for a consistent, repeatable cup season to season.
Roast
Le Québec is blended across four roast levels – roughly 15% light, 30% medium, 40% medium-dark, and 15% dark. The lighter roasts bring floral lift and clarity, while the medium-dark and dark portions build body and smoky depth. Together they give the blend its layered, well-rounded character.
Brewing
As a general guideline, aim for a 1:16 ratio – roughly 1 gram of coffee to 16 grams of water for a balanced cup. For drip and filter service, use 8.5 g of coffee per 236.56 ml (8 oz) of water, about 36 g per litre at batch scale.
