Colombia Excelso Origen Coop
Green Coffee
Colombia Excelso Origen Coop is a certified organic, washed-process Colombia Excelso green coffee sold in 20 kg bulk. It is sourced from Origen Coop, a 141-producer cooperative in the Colombian Massif of southern Huila. Each grower farms no more than three hectares. The lot delivers the clean, balanced cup that defines Colombian Excelso, with traceability that wholesale buyers can communicate to their own customers.
Cupping Profile
Fragrance of red fruits, caramel, dark chocolate, and malt, with citrusy acidity, smooth body, and balanced uniformity. Dark chocolate carries through as the dominant cup note. The profile gives a roaster a versatile lot – clean enough for single-origin filter, structured enough to anchor a specialty espresso blend. These are pre-roast indications of cup potential, not finished-cup descriptors.
Processing
This lot is fully washed. Cherries are hand-picked at peak ripeness, then pulped and fermented for 18 to 24 hours to remove the mucilage. Drying is slow and deliberate, running 20 to 40 days with temperatures held below 45 °C to preserve aromatic detail. Origen Coop's 141 small-scale producers each manage no more than three hectares. They practise cultivation methods built around the Colombian Massif's biodiversity, with shade canopy that protects the region's plant and animal life. The result is a clean, certified-organic lot with verifiable origin and process discipline.
