Chocolate Hazelnut

Chocolate Hazelnut Coffee is a velvety-smooth Arabica coffee with a rich chocolate-and-hazelnut flavour, freshly flavoured on demand so every batch arrives fresh and aromatic. Part of Terra's Aroma Terra line of flavoured blends, it is an indulgent, crowd-pleasing option for cafés and offices that want a dessert-style coffee on the menu. Micro-roasted in small batches in Montréal and flavoured to order, it gives a flavoured-coffee program a smooth, dependable base, available in 65 g and 320 g retail bags and in bulk 1 kg and 3 kg.

Tasting Notes

The cup is smooth and velvety, layered with the rich flavour of chocolate and toasted hazelnut – think chocolate-hazelnut spread in a cup. Because it is flavoured on demand rather than pre-flavoured, the flavour stays fresh and aromatic, with a sweet, dessert-like finish that works on its own or with milk.

Origin

Chocolate Hazelnut Coffee is built on an Arabica base grown at 1,100 to 1,200 metres and harvested from May to September. The high-grown beans give a clean, smooth cup that takes the chocolate-hazelnut flavouring well.

Brewing

As a general guideline, aim for a 1:16 ratio – roughly 1 gram of coffee to 16 grams of water for a balanced cup. For drip and filter service, use 8.5 g of coffee per 236.56 ml (8 oz) of water, about 36 g per litre at batch scale.
