ARIEL English Breakfast
Black Tea
A full-bodied black tea blend in the English Breakfast tradition, built for menus that need a reliable morning tea position. Available in 24- and 60-count compostable pyramid tea bags for service simplicity, in 125 g loose leaf tins for shelf programs, and in 1 kg loose leaf bulk for foodservice operations running by the cup. Pairs naturally with milk and sugar – the standard service preparation across café, hotel, and restaurant programs – and holds its character on its own at full strength.
Tasting Notes
The cup pours a deep amber-red with a malty, full-bodied character at the front. The profile is robust without being harsh – brisk on the palate, with the rounded depth that distinguishes a quality English Breakfast from a generic black tea. Holds its body when poured over milk; the cup stays defined rather than washed out, which is the operational test for a morning service tea.
Blend
English Breakfast emerged as a tea category in the 19th century, blended specifically as a strong morning tea suited to the British full breakfast – cooked food, milk and sugar, repeated cups across the morning service. The category convention is a blend of robust black teas chosen to deliver depth and consistency rather than the singular character of an unblended single-origin tea. Our blend follows that convention: a full-bodied recipe that anchors a morning beverage program and serves as the default with-milk position on most café menus.
Brewing
Steep 2.5 g per 250 ml at 95 °C for 3 minutes. Black tea is the most heat-tolerant of the true teas; full boil convenience makes it operationally simple for high-turn morning service. At commercial scale, a 1 kg bag yields approximately 400 portions at 2.5 g per cup. Each 250 ml serving contains zero calories.
