ARIEL Blueberry Pomegranate

A Chinese sencha green tea flavoured with blueberry and pomegranate character, built on the same steamed Chinese-grown leaf as our single-origin Chinese Sencha. Whole dried blueberries are visible in the loose blend, alongside cornflower petals that contribute visual texture. Available in a 90 g loose leaf tin – a destination format for specialty retail and tasting programs rather than a high-volume bulk position. The cup pours pale gold-yellow with a fruit-forward aroma; serves equally well hot or chilled over ice.

Tasting Notes

The cup pours a clear pale gold-yellow with a fruit-forward aroma at the front. Blueberry leads – ripe and naturally sweet rather than candy-sweet – with pomegranate adding a bright, slightly tart counterpoint. The Chinese sencha base contributes a soft vegetal note underneath, the steamed-green character that distinguishes sencha-style processing from pan-fired Chinese green tea. Low astringency, clean finish, and a long, fruit-forward aftertaste.

Blend

The base is whole leaf Chinese green tea processed in the Japanese sencha style – steamed rather than pan-fired, which preserves the brighter green character that pairs cleanly with fruit flavouring. Whole dried blueberries are added as visible fruit pieces in the loose blend; cornflower petals contribute additional visual texture; natural and artificial flavours carry the blueberry and pomegranate character in the cup. Green tea is naturally rich in antioxidants, and the fruit pairing reads particularly well in iced preparations and warmer-weather menus.

Brewing

Steep 2.5 g per 250 ml at 90 °C for 2 minutes. The shorter steep window matters operationally: green tea pulls bitterness past 2 ½ minutes, and the fruit character reads cleanest without over-extraction. A 90 g tin yields approximately 36 portions at 2.5 g per cup. Each 250 ml serving contains zero calories.
